About the EPET Certificate Program

The Earth and Planetary Exploration Technology (EPET) certificate program at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa provides undergraduate students with hands-on experience in space science instrumentation, planetary exploration, and remote sensing technology.

Coordinated by Professor Peter Englert at the Hawaiʻi Institute of Geophysics and Planetology (HIGP), the program includes coursework in planetary materials, remote sensing, field studies, and a capstone design project.

EPET students have designed CubeSat missions, built gamma-ray spectrometers, and participated in NASA-funded research through the Hawaiʻi Space Grant Consortium.
